After 150+ websites, I still get a little bit giddy when a site goes live.
Hi, I'm Lesley - web designer, strategist, and visual director. Which is a fancy way of saying: I build websites that are strategically sound, visually bold, and actually work.
I work with small businesses across Australia, the US and UK who know they need a website that actually does something - but aren't quite sure what that looks like yet. That's where I come in. Before a single page gets designed, I'm thinking about strategy. Who are your clients? What do they need to feel when they land on your site? What do they need to do next? That thinking is what separates a website that looks pretty from one that actually works.
And yes, I'll also tell you (kindly, but honestly) if your colour palette looks like baby poo.

In 2024 I was invited to join the Squarespace Marketplace, as a top designer - an exclusive group of designers handpicked by Squarespace for meeting their highest standards of quality and skill. Not everyone gets the call. I'm quietly (loud) smug about it.
In six years of full-time web design, I've built over 150 websites for clients and worked with hundreds, ranging from solo founders just starting out to established businesses ready for a serious glow-up. I've been doing this long enough to know what works - and bold enough to push you toward it even if it scares you a little.
My path here wasn't exactly linear.
I've managed call centres in London, worked as a quantitative researcher, run events at a five-star restaurant, and somehow found myself working in a float centre along the way. Different industries, different countries, always the person racing through everyone else's work by lunchtime and sitting there wondering what's next.
I've always been creative - in how I dress, how I live, how I see the world. I used to be a professional dancer (you can still find me doing dance-offs in my lounge). I once ran a half marathon in 1 hour 45. I cycled 500km around Tasmania - solo, with zero cycling experience - on mountains that Tour de France riders use to train. I nearly didn't make it. It was the best thing I've ever done.
I don't do things by halves. Never have.
When I discovered Squarespace web design in 2018 something finally clicked. It's the only thing I've ever done that uses both sides of my brain at once - the analytical, strategic, systems-thinking side and the creative, visual, push-the-boundaries side. I'd spent years in offices and boardrooms being useful but creatively restless. This was the thing I'd been looking for.
Now I work on my own terms, when I'm firing on all cylinders. That's when the best work happens - mine and yours. And honestly? That's what I want for every business owner I work with. You built something for yourself. It should actually feel like you.

True crime is basically my personality - podcasts, documentaries, wrongful convictions, all of it. If I could have been a detective, I would’ve.
